PAINTINGS CONSERVATOR

Sherri Tan has been a Paintings Conservator in private practice since 1992: Trained in painting conservation, specializing in modern paintings, including history of materials and techniques, and collections management and care. Experience includes conservation projects ranging from modern and historic works, large-scale murals and historic wall paintings in Miami and New York under auspices of Rustin Levenson Art Conservation Associates, (RLACA), as well as other private studios around the United States.

Projects of interest include restoration of 41-foot dome ceiling mural in historic Miami Beach US Post Office; treatment of two American, Depression-era WPA murals in Harlem Hospital, New York; The Empire Theatre, Times Square, New York; and conservation treatments on a wide variety of American and European modern and traditional easel paintings including works by William Bouguereau Camile Corot, Thomas Gainsborough, Hans Hofmann, William Hogarth, Georges Isabey, Franz Kline, Oskar Kokoschka, Joan Miro, Joan Mitchell, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Frank Stella, Maurice Vlaminck, and others.

Ms. Tan is accredited as a Professional Associate Conservator by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC).
